When you’re in the mood for Barbecue, first your mouth starts watering

cooking. We take lean, tender St. Louis style ribs, smoke them for hours
in our specially designed smoker, baste them over oak wood with a 2 zone
cooking style that leaves your mouth watering.
Chef Mikkel cooks, beef, pork, chicken and ribs, slowly
smoking them through and through. Whether it’s for lunch or
dinner, we combine a casual dining atmosphere with just plain good

HOW I GOT STARTED...
My name is Mikkel Brinson. I am the owner and operator of Simply
Southern BBQ. I am a self-taught, self-trained Chef. My love for food
started at a young age. My Mom would leave us at home under the
non-supervision of my brother and when she returned home, the kitchen
would be a disaster. That was the very start of my cooking career. Some
years later, I met my future mother-in-law who was always throwing
dinner parties. I found myself gravitating towards the kitchen to help
but would eventually take over! It came natural to me, and I had a sense
of peace in the kitchen. From there, my thirst for different and
unusual ingredients grew.
My family migrated to Florida from Georgia. My Father and Uncles were
referred to as “Country Boys”. We had many family BBQ’s growing up
in which we prepared everything from whole pigs to seafood on
the grill. So, that’s my cooking core!
Over the last few years, I started a catering business and was a
private chef. While doing research, I noticed that there
was a lack of good BBQ in the area and figured it would
be a great opportunity to open a BBQ restaurant. With the help of my
Wife, Friends and Family, I was able to open Simply Southern BBQ, which
represents me and how I was raised.
